I regularly run courses on PowerPoint 2003 and 2007. These are some of the tips I give to my trainees to make their presentations interesting and to keep the attention of their audience.
- Be consistent with the sldies – use a design template of your own or create a Master slide layout
- Introduce a variety of slides eg bulleted text, grpahics, charts, pictures
- Keep the slide transitions simple
- Use Custom animation on mouse click
- Introduce some music at the beginning across a few slides
- Use movie footage to illustrate your points
- Use action buttons to open files like Word/Excel on your computer/server
- Use action buttons to link to a URL (web page)
